About the Author

MURAYAMA Yuzo

A Doshisha Business School professor, Murayama Yuzo also served as vice president of Doshisha University from 2014–2016. He was born in the Nishijin district of Kyoto and, after graduating from Doshisha, earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Washington. Before becoming a professor, he was a securities analyst for Nomura Research Institute at its Tokyo head office and London branch and researched high-tech industries in Europe and the United States. At present, he is an independent director of JR West and a member of the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry Smart Business Support Team. He is a recognized authority on business aspects of heritage industries. He received the Fujita Future Management Economic Award for Tekunoshisutemu tenkan no senryaku [Strategy of techno system conversion] (NHK Books, 2000) and the Most Outstanding Book Award from the Japan Association for International Security for Keizai anzen hosho o kangaeru [A consideration of economic security] (NHK Books, 2003).

著者紹介

村山裕三

1953年、京都市生まれ。1975年、同志社大学経済学部卒業。1982年、ワシントン大学よりアメリカ経済史で博士号取得(Ph.D)。同年より、野村総合研究所で、アメリカおよびヨーロッパのハイテク企業担当証券アナリストとして勤務。その後、大阪外国語大学(現・大阪大学)教授などを経て、現在、同志社大学大学院ビジネス研究科(ビジネススクール)教授。日本安全保障貿易学会会長、総合科学技術会議「社会基盤プロジェクトチーム」委員。専門は、経済安全保障、技術政策、文化ビジネス。主な著書に『テクノシステム転換の戦略』『経済安全保障を考える』(ともにNHKブックス)他多数。
